Street Artist Creates This Clever Tree Illusion In Brooklyn

In this mural by street artist Pejac, a wall in Brooklyn is left with the imprint of a tree. It's as if thousands of years in the future, when trees disappear from our planet, one tree "fossil" is left over, still providing shade for the street.

"I am very happy to finally share pictures of my first work made in New York," the artist says via Instagram. "‘Fossil’ works as a harbinger of a hypothetical fatal future where the only memory we have of nature is the fossilized form of a tree in a brick wall."

Want to visit the piece in person? The piece can be found at 27 Scott Ave. Brooklyn.

"I want to thank all the amazing local people who helped me making this happen," Pejac concludes.

And that final shot where someone spray painted the words, "Is this art?" across the work?

Pejac responds, "Quite an effective way to ask a question. But next time just send me a DM."
