Inspire Your Mind With Winning Shots From The 2017 International Photographer Of The Year Awards

The results are in! Over 4,000 photos were submitted to the International Photographer of the Year competition last year and the winning shots are sure to inspire.

Every year, the competition highlights talent from around the world. Both professionals and amateurs submit their work to categories ranging from nature to fine art, abstract, architecture, and people. From there, the judges choose the top shots in each category.

This year, American photographer Sarah Blesener won the overall top prize with her series Beckon Us from Home which allows us to peek into the world of "Patriot Camp", a place where children go to become more American.

“With activities like water gun games, racing, and tug-a-war, this could easily be mistaken for a YMCA summer camp in Salt Lake City," she says of the series. "However, 900 students across Utah are attending a weeklong “Patriot Camp,” focusing on patriotic education and the constitution.”

A sample from the series is shown above with three children lying in the grass.
