"Night Rambler": Moody Film Noir Photos Of Tokyo After Dark

Takehiko Nakafuji began his educational career studying literature, but in a moment of clarity, dropped out.

It wasn't long before he turned to photography and went back to school in Tokyo for photography. And he's been shooting ever since.

These masterful shots of his city look like scenes taken straight from a film noir movie. The moody streets move with umbrellas and mysterious, dark figures. Reflections reveal flashing lights and lonely nights.

He calls this series "Street Rambler". This is his diary of night walks, a collection of street scene as only an insomniac photographer could only see it.

In addition to his work from Japan, Nakafuji has captured moody scenes in Eastern Europe, Russia, New York, and Paris. All are darkly romantic and addictively moody.
