Adorable Photos Of Moms And Their Kids In Indonesian Floating Markets

Lok Baintan Floating Market is a 500-year-old tradition that sees colorful vendors hawking fresh goods along the river every morning, from sunrise to noon.

These early hours are a whirlwind of chaotic sounds, smells, and colors. And because most of the vendors are women, it isn't unusual to see entrepreneurial mothers with their children in tow, teaching the little ones how to trade from an early age.

In this series, photographer Tubagus Tisna Suherman explores the relationship between the boat mothers and their kids. These multi-tasking superwomen can be seen feeding the kids while paddling their boats or making a deal.

Some kids are old enough to help out and can be seen paddling with a child's sized paddle. Others are just a little too young. Those babies mostly sit still and snack till the market disperses.
