First published in 1986, Stephen King's horror novel 'IT' still stands as one of the American authors most frightening tales. It was the 22nd book he'd published and it found truly in his element as one of the world's greatest proponents of horror.

King masterfully taps into our long-standing childhood fears of the unknown and supernatural, tightly weaving them together with a pervading sense of isolation and genuine evil.

The demonic entity at the centre of the story is called IT a monster of unknown origin that preys on children and humans every three decades.

It's powers include shape-shifting into a form that induces fear while killing the victim, normally assuming the form of a middle-aged man dressed in a clown costume, calling itself "Pennywise the Dancing Clown".

The book itself is a whopping 1,138 pages and in 1990 was adapted into a TV mini-series starring Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown. It was far and away his most terrifying role, whilst the show itself would continue to give children (and adults) nightmares for the next 2 decades.

Now, some 31 years since the book was released a brand new feature length movie is set to be released. If the trailers are anything to go by, it might just be one of the horror movies of the year.

Inspired by its upcoming release, 17-year-old Mississippi photographer Eagan Tilghman setup an "IT" photo-shoot with Louie his 3-year-old brother dressed as Pennywise. Impressively enough the duo created the entire shoot themselves, from the concept, eerie locations and clown makeup right down to the realistic costume.

Whilst Louie is certainly far to young to see the movie, he nevertheless pulls of a genuinely chilling tribute to Pennywise. Make sure you head over to Eagan's Instagram profile to see more creative shoots from the brothers.
