When it comes to modern day music, so often sterilized with glossy production, auto-tune and repetitive harmonies the epic guitar solo is rapidly becoming a rare thing indeed.

But thankfully, you don't have to travel too far back in time to find some truly astounding musical feats on the fretboard. We've search the musical annals across the world to pick out 10 of the greatest guitar solos in the history of music.
