Popular Rappers Paired With Medieval Artworks Is Pure Genius

Popular Tumblr blog B4 XVI (a.k.a. beforesixteen) whose mission is to "Highlight the invisible conversation between hip hop and art before the 16th century." features some to the leading and biggest names in hip-hop and rap, alongside medieval artworks from the 16th century.

It's the creation of Cecilia Azcarate, the Spanish blogger spends 3-4 hours clicking around various museum websites looking to find the perfect match.

More often than not, she bookmarks and downloads images in the hopes that she'll find the perfect match in the future. Here's some of her latest and greatest pairings to date.

"Hip-hop royalty." just took on a whole new meaning.
