Your Apps Are Ensuring You'll Never Have Any Privacy Again

Unsurprisingly the biggest threats to your privacy is your smartphone. Of all the apps you’ve installed, used daily and enjoy interacting with how many of their terms and conditions have you actually read?

The Privacy Project asked these individuals to read the permissions from some of the most popular apps of 2015 and filmed their reactions. There's all manner of eye-opening invasions of privacy that you might unknowingly be agreeing.

These might include allowing companies to use your microphone whilst not using the app, plotting your location constantly to even adjusting and modifying your call log and contact database.

Alarming there's even one example of an app requesting the ability to turn off your "Flight Mode" whenever they deem fit.

By allowing this level of freedom, companies have the potential to bundle all types of data together and sell it to the highest bidder.

In short, if you value your privacy, make sure you take the time to read the terms and conditions closely. Remember, if you're not paying for the product, you are the product.
