Impressive Life-Sized Horses Made From Sheets Of A4 Paper

These sculptures by Richard Sweeney represent the very best of giant origami art.

In this series, Sweeney crafted a herd of life-sized horses from paper. Though the scale of his work is often massive, the process begins simply enough.

First, Sweeney experiments with his paper, testing shape possibilities by scoring and folding it. Once it begins to take shape, he starts the final draft where he folds the paper over a wooden armature.

These horse sculptures were created as part of the "Dream of Gold" exhibit in the massive Lincoln Cathedral in England. The exhibit saw artist from all corners of the globe creating work inspired by the Olympics. Sweeney's horses were made of A4 sheets of paper placed around a wooden skeleton.

You can find more of his work on Facebook.
