This Fascinating Sculpture Was Carved From A Dead Tree Stump In Romania

This incredible work of art was made with nothing more than a tree stump and chainsaw!

Located in a children's park in Craiova, Romania, the piece was designed by artist Gabi Rizea. He calls the sculpture Apa which is the Romanian word for "water".

Though you'd probably never guess it, Apa was carved from a rotting stump that was slowly being eaten by insects.

The smooth texture and natural grain make the finished piece look just like a levitating bucket of water.
