Pablo Escobar's Tulum Estate Is Now A Luxury Hotel And The Beach Access Is Amazing

Looking for a new, secret getaway? Why not rent out Pablo Escobar's mansion in Tulum, Mexico?

That's right, the infamous drug lord's estate has been converted into a luxury hotel filled with rotating art exhibitions and modern furniture.

Located on a private white beach, this gem is a quietly opulent hideaway in the jungle of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

The estate was abandoned back in 1993 after Escobar's death only to be rediscovered in 2003. The property was returned to its original owner after which Design Hotels spotted the unique opportunity and began the massive overhaul project.

The five-star hotel was opened in 2015 and features 180 meters of private white beach, an onsite restaurant, a stunning indoor pool, and rotating art installations inside.

Forgotten opulence in Mexico's jungle? This is definitely on the bucket list now.

And if you're in other historic drinking and holiday destinations, check out this bar in an abandoned ex-CIA aircraft in Costa Rica.
