Horrific & Evil Embroidery Inspired By The Occult

When you think of haberdashery you might envisage wise little grandmas knitting away all manner of cute scarfs, wooden jumpers and dollies. The last thing you'd associate sewing with is the darker themes from the occult.

But that's exactly what Australian artist Adipocere incorporates into her embroidery work. Her sinister stitching should come as no surprise - her pseudonym is a reference to the waxy substance produced during decomposition.

Using a limited colour palette she brings all manner of evil and bizarre scenes to life - among her work you'll see skeletons, black cats, frightening spiders and even disemboweled maidens....

Certainly unusual but unquestionably creative, these occult-themed embroideries are as unsettling as they are eye-catching. You can see more of her demonic yet playful work via her Instagram profile @adipocere.

Limited edition prints and various items are also available on her official site right here
