These Dedicated Dudes Recreated The Same Photo For 35 Years Now

These five friends met 35 years ago back in high school and they've stayed friends ever since. To celebrate their faithful bromance, the guys re-shoot the same group photo every five years, making a timeline that spans three decades.

The original photo was taken in 1982 when everyone was about 19-years-old. The group had met at Santa Barbara high school and bonded over their mutual love of Super8 movies.

The shot was taken at Copco Lake where one of the boy's grandpa owned a cabin. Though there were a few spats along the way, the group stayed in touch over the years and made it a tradition to revisit the cabin.

As the photo tradition progressed, the guys set a few rules to keep the shots consistent: one guy holds a glass and another keeps his hat in his lap.

"I couldn't believe the amount of reactions (in 2012) to our picture," explains Molony, the guy holding the glass. "About 75% of the responses were glowing and loving, but some of it was visceral hate."

For their latest shot, the guys decided to break tradition and do it shirtless. Sure, they may be in their 50s with dad bellies and gray hair. But this twist on the tradition proves they're all still young at heart and not taking things too seriously.
