1,000+ Frida Kahlo Look-Alikes Broke The World Record On Her Birthday

In celebration of Frida Kahlo's 110th birthday, the Dallas Museum of Art hosted thousands of fans dressed as the famous Mexican artist.

Attendees of the event set a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as the uni-browed icon. Over 5,000 people attended with a little over 1,000 arriving in costume. All ages and genders were welcome to adopt the artist's signature style with a knee-length dress, at least 3 flowers in their hair, and a red or pink rebozo shawl.

Of course, everyone was sporting the Frida's legendary unibrow.

For many, Frida Khalo has come to represent empowerment for women. Her strong ideals and art still serve as inspiration to keep pushing for equality among races and genders.

"Us women, we're still very much  fighting for things we need in life, things like health care or the ability to live and feed ourselves, the same way we had to when she was around," Katy Marchant, a Frida Fest participant, explained in an interview Dallas news .

"Her work is very much about being stronger, about having the right to govern ourselves, to be able to make our own decisions and not be bullied or pushed around or be told that we can't do that."

The event also included dancing, Frida-inspired makeup, a film screening, and of course, birthday cake. Guinness should release the world record results in a few weeks.
