Awesome Behind-The-Scenes Photos From The Making Of 'Halloween' (1978)

Halloween is an independent slasher film from 1978 set in the fictional midwestern town of Haddonfield, Illinois. Directed by John Carpenter, the film would go on to have a huge impact the American horror genre.

Going first by the titles The Babysitter Murders and The Night He Came Home, the story follows the escape of psychiatric patient Michael Myers and the subsequent murder spree that followed.

Even if you haven't see Halloween, we're sure you'll at least recognize the white mask that Myers wears throughout the film. That mask has definitely become a staple in the world of Halloween costumes.

But did you know that Myer's iconic was originally a Captain Kirk mask from Star Trek?

Director John Carpenter had the mask stretched out and white washed for the 20-day film shoot.
