Artist Builds Giant Creatures To Play In The Forest Of Copenhagen

Danish artist Thomas Dambo crafts giant, wooden sculptures that look like they just stepped out of a fairy tale.

Known as Forgotten Giants, this series is an outdoor art exhibition nestled among the trees of western Copenhagen. The giant creatures interact with their environments in adorably animated ways. Though their height may be imposing, their postures radiate a childish curiosity that's infectious.

"Go hunting for The Six Forgotten Giants in Rødovre, Hvidovre, Vallensbæk, Ishøj, Albertslund and Høje Taastrup," Dambo says.

"All six sculptures are made from scrap wood with the help of local volunteers. The project wants to bring art out of the museum, show the beautiful and often overlooked nature spots in the western part of Copenhagen, and at the same time give an exciting and different experience."
