Inspire Your Week With These Bold Illustrations That Mix Japanese Art And Basketball

Andrew Archer's blend the cool of hip-hop with the bold graphics of traditional Japanese art.

The Melbourne-based artist started this back in 2013 when he got the idea to reinterpret Japanese mythology and basketball culture. Archer calls the series Edo Ball.

"Some are based on Japanese mythology and culture, others are narratives based on players nicknames and some are created from popular sayings from the game of basketball," he says.

"The subjects mixed together seamlessly and were incredibly popular with the Basketball and Japanese culture communities."

All of these pieces are available as t-shirts, prints, and postcards. Check out the collection here.
