You'll Love How This Artist Paid Tribute To Bowie's Legacy

Phoenix-based artist Maggie Keane decided to celebrate Bowie's birthday last year by beginning a series of tribute murals.

Though the rockstar may no longer be with us, his legacy lives on in through art like this.

The concept came about as a way to celebrate Bowie's his birthday on January 8 back in 2016, right after the star died.

"Should I put several different pictures or just one big picture?" she asked.

"I wasn’t sure what to do with it, but then when David Bowie passed away it just jumped in my mind. I have to do a tribute to David Bowie."

After deciding to complete multiple murals, it was only a question of which Bowie characters to depict. Keane chose to depict a wide sampling of his personas. You'll find Labyrinth Bowie, Ziggie Stardust, A Lad Insane, and the Low album cover.

"The come and visit me and they just thank me, people drive by and yell, ‘Thank you!’ and if they come and visit they’ll spend some time and talk to me about what he meant to them, and it’s just been a extremely awarding experience," she says.
