Film lovers rejoice! Popular Twitter channel Cinema Palettes is here to give us all an education on the powerful role colour and tone can play within a film. Darker colour palettes of generate a sense of loss, isolation and dread, whilst warmer colours signify hope, positivity and change.

To highlight the stark difference, they've captured one random scene from a selection of iconic movies and created a colour palette featuring the 10 most prominent tones within that scene.

Whilst the colours palettes aren't always constant throughout each movie, they nevertheless hint at the themes contained within. The soft and subtle pinks of The Grand Budapest Hotel hark back to a time of opulence and grandeur for example.

On the other hand scenes from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 are often filled with all kinds of icy blues and cool greens.
