Stylish Music Video Transforms New York Into GIF Heaven

Stylish Music Video Transforms New York Into GIF Heaven

Could "Tendency" by Liquid Pegasus and Estate be first music video comprised entirely from GIFs? Maybe? Instead of the typical stock standard music video of a band playing in front of rent a crowd in a studio space, the band shot a hundreds of photographs in and around NYC and converted them all into a series of GIFs.

Josh Johnson (who is actually in the band Estate) used an old Nimslo camera to shoot the photos initially. Interestingly, it's the perfect tool for creating GIFs since it takes 4 frames simultaneously. Johnson then took the 35mm negatives, scanned them into his computer and then added the animation effect in Photoshop. The end result is a music video that plays more like a 3D flip book, with a soundtrack that fits perfectly.

It's New York City as you've never experienced it before.
