What do you get when you combine water, injection moulded tiles, solenoid valves, steel beams, 3D tracking cameras & a hydraulic management system?
You’d have created the ‘Rain Room‘ an art installation unlike any other.
It’s unique because as you as walk into the room itself (which is 100sq in size) it is literally pouring down everywhere you look – except in the very spot where you’re standing. As you walk and traverse across the room, the installation responds to your movements and very presence creating a dry pathway for you in amongst the 220 gallons of recycled water it’s pumping out every minute.

With the sound of water & moisture filling the air, it would be quite easy to expect to get wet and yet, you’ll stay as dry as bone whilst standing literally in the middle of a storm.
Here’s how it works.
And finally, here’s an interview with the artist behind the stunning concept.
