Daan Roosegaarde is the ingenious mind behind the ‘Lotus Dome’ an objected built from hundreds of individual light-weight aluminium pieces that gently fold & response to their surroundings. If you walk towards the dome, it detects your presence instantly and the dome itself lights up from within, its aluminium panels opening up like a flower to let the light glimmer through.
As you walk around it, different panels open and respond to your movement, creating an interactive world where art & physics combine. It’s an immensely beautiful device and work of art but if that wasn’t impressive enough, it’s situated in the Sainte Marie Madeleine Church in Lille, France – noted for its grandeur & stunning interior.
Some would say it’s the perfect place, to experience the wonder of the ‘Lotus Dome’
