Japanese Farmers Create Fields Of Unbelievable Art

It all began way back in 1993 in a small Japanese village called Inakadate, local farmers began to plot out their rice paddocks using different coloured rice plants. They used 3 types, purple, the yellow-leafed kodaimai and the traditional green-leafed tsugaru and when those 3 different varieties grew to their full length, they would form a series of rough images within the field.

Since then it has spread to countless other farming communities in Japan with many farmers now using computers to map their designs, so they know exactly where to place in the seeds in advance. As such the results have been nothing but extradoinary, so much so that over 15,000 a year now travel to see these famous and iconic fields of art.
