Could ‘Avastar‘ be the worst nightclub in the world?
And the answer to that really does depend on how much of a fan you are of the film Avatar – which is what owner Mike Basson’s new mega club is entirely based around.
It’s situated in the very centre of Johannesburg’s clubbing district of Rivonia, South Africa – and it’s certainly raised a few eyebrows from the local competition.
Basson describes ‘Avastar’ as “an experience that allows you to express your imagination revealed in dreams, free of the conscious control of reason and convention. A secret land where futuristic mid 22nd century meets state of the art technology and you will experience nothing short of an extraterrestrial awaking of the senses.”
Sounds like a bold statement that’s for sure, but you can’t deny the amount of effort he and his team have put into the creating such a unique establishment. Here he is explaining what the public can expect from a night at Avastar…
