Projection Mapping By Dane Luttik

It’s a common sight these days at most major scale music shows, whether you’re Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Squarepusher or Nine Inch Nails the chances are that projections and onstage visuals are a key component for any touring artist, and if you’re DJ Shadow they ARE the show.

But how are those visual projections created and who is behind the majority of them?

Well, Belgium filmmaker Dane Luttik has gone a long way into answering that question with his new docoumentary titled “Augmented Reality: Projection Mapping”. In it, he explores and details how its evolved, who’s using it and its potential for the future. Trust us when we say it’s a lot more than a laptop program running projections onto a canvas.
