Get ready for a very Gaga Christmas. All 5,500 square feet of it.
It’s not every day that you get a pop icon setting up their own bizzare holiday workshop in a major department store – but that’s precisely what Lady Gaga has done. Teaming up with stylist Nicola Formichetti, she’s created a colourful and bizzare workship at Barney’s flagship store in New York City.
It’s fun, colourful and utterly off the wall – everything you’d expect from Gaga (or rather Ms Santa Claus)
So what exactly is housed within the workshop? Well, she’s single handedly designed a limited edition range of items for her fans. These include things like leather jackets, fake nails, cartoon sculptures, luminous cookies, her favourite books and even an Alexander McQueen shoe made entire of chocolate!

And the centre piece of the entire collection? The 8ft tall Lady Gaga spider sculpture.
“There’s all sorts of affordable presents here, and they are guilt-free. It’s the dream of what music and culture are all about, and those are things that can get lost when you focus too much on commercialism. This is, for me, a much more whimsical approach, a Pop Art approach. It’s a ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ moment. I wanted it all to be whimsical and fun, with a sense of art and fashion.”
Best of all, Barneys is actually donating 25% of the sales from the 220 gifts available to the Born This Way Foundation (the charity Lady Gaga setup in her name) – and that’s precisely what Christmas is all, having fun & giving back to others.
The entire workshop will run until January 2nd 2012
